StitchBuddy 3.3.4 - Public Beta

macOS-sequoia

Today macOS 15 "Sequoia" has started its public beta phase, and StitchBuddy for Mac is joining…

In macOS 15 "Sequoia" Apple is going to drop support for legacy Quick Look plugins (aka "QLGenerators"), and will require new extensions to display file content. For over 16 years StitchBuddy has provided Quick Look previews and thumbnails in macOS, and of course it will continue with Sequoia, even with some improvements:

  • Quick Look previews can be resized with a constant font size
  • Text colors are adjusted to Dark Mode

Starting today a first public beta of StitchBuddy 3.3.4 can be installed via TestFlight using this link. The new preview / thumbnail extensions are used in macOS 12 (or higher), but can always be deactivated in the "Extensions" system preference with a fallback to the legacy QLGenerator (except in macOS 15).

Although I didn't realize any major issue, this version is still a beta release and I will start a corresponding discussion in StitchBuddy's community forum to gather your feedback.
